| 190639 | 11/26/2009 6:27:04 PM | What complete ignition system would you recommend, from dizzy to sparkplugs.
If it helps we can use automotive other than marine electronics in our boats down here in New Zealand, so its doesn't have to be "mallory marine" equipment.

| 189185 | 9/28/2009 12:20:48 AM | Hi, maybe my first question wasnt clear enough. Can a Mallory 9-29722 be used as a direct replacement for a Mallory 30450 ? The coil is required for use with Mallory 61004M. Is an external ballast resistor required when using the 9-29722 with the 61004M. Looking foward to your reply. Regards Adrian. |
| 189160 | 9/26/2009 10:12:48 PM | I'm currently using a Mallory sigle point distributor on my boat but I want to get away from points & go electronic if possible. What are my options & what do I need to change on my current set up to make it work with an electronic set up? A couple of units I found are YLU624AV(breakerless electronic) or YLM624AV(magnetic breakerless ignition). Thanks Dan |

| 108152 | 9/22/2004 1:42:27 AM | I have a Ford 390 in a marine application with a YL Mallory distributor. My manual only states an 8 degree initial advance. The information that came with the spring kit that I ordered from you says that Mallory distributors are factory set to give 24 degrees advance. I have installed the springs that should provide this but when I run the engine up to 4000 my timing light shows that I have 26 degrees. I assume this is the TOTAL advance. Should I be getting 32 degrees total advance (8 plus 24) ? Obviously I need to go to a set of lighter... |
| 107979 | 9/18/2004 10:08:14 PM | UNDER MALLORY MARINE I SEE LISTED A SOLIDSTATE DISTRIBUTOR THAT FITS ALL OLDS V8's. WILL IT FIT MY 1962 394 V8. |
| 105212 | 7/30/2004 9:50:54 AM | I have a 455 Olds motor in a custom boat that I purchased from my cousins neighbor. I have been working on it for a couple of years now (custom metal flake paint, billet dash components, aluminum heads, lumpy cam, etc...). I originally put an old single point dist. in the motor just to get her up and running. Now I want to get her in the water, but I need some good firepower. Does Mallory offer a marine approved electronic distributor to fit this motor? If so, what else can I do to improve the ignition?
Thanks for your time, you guys are grea... |
